Prints 14" x11" & Cards 5.5"x4.25" Acrylic, sequins, seed beads and paper/textile collage on stretched canvas A wild mother rhinoceros has limited vision and acute hearing. She is extremely protective of her territory and her young. Though usually inclined to tranquility, if she senses a threat, before actually seeing the perceived danger, she charges the direction of the irritation. |

An untamed rhinoceros dwells in the tender interior of every woman. She is the keeper of feminine boundaries. Usually benign, this maternal rhinoceros is preoccupied with hanging out in the vast, sacred space of a woman’s inner world, where the waters of creativity flow as a thriving river.
Like a feral rhinoceros, a woman’s own rhino, fueled by raw instinct, has a passion to protect her space. When bothered by uninvited or unpleasant disturbance, or when distracted from her rhythms and reveries, she is prone to become quite agitated. Unconcerned with social propriety, she fights dirty. Ready to gore the unbidden intruder, she bellows and rages and charges, angrily going after the irritation. If you want to approach this powerful female force, please proceed with quiet courtesy, lest a woman’s rhinoceros is startled and wakes to roar. ©2011 |
