My journey to Carthage in southwest Missouri has been a circuitous one from Arkansas beginnings through urban sojourns in Dallas and New York City. Hendrix College, General Theological Seminary and the Art Students League were stops for study. Sixteen seasons of solitude found me riverside in the wayback of the forested Ozark highlands.  

Questing for images and inspiration, my travels have led me from east to west and north to south—Fire Island to Australia, Vermont to Vancouver, London to Acapulco, North Carolina to LA, Wisconsin to New Orleans, Toronto to St.Croix.

Today a stretch of heartland stillness offers me a quiet, new view. Through my studio windows, bird songs and treetop whispers dance on playful breezes, as I blissfully stand before my easel.

Delighted and content, I watch my paintings, portraits, prints and note cards make their own journeys and find their homes in exhibitions and collections, as well as in hands and hearts, public and private. C’est la joie!
